The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing has a spotless accreditation record.
AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing is accredited by the Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools.
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing maintains admission requirements in line with the State standards for Licensed Practical Nurses. An LPN candidate must:
- be at least 18 years of age on or before the first day of class.
- take and pass the Pre-Entrance examination before applying for admission.
- The Pre-Entrance exam must be scheduled in advance. Please call the Program Director (the telephone number is 718 – 596 – 5300) to schedule.
- For the Pre-Entrance exam, each prospective student must provide two forms of picture ID and the original copy of a GED or high school diploma.
- The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing accepts foreign high school diplomas. They must be translated and evaluated by an evaluation service agency before submission to the school.
Every graduating student that passed the NCLEX-PN received a New York State Licensed Practical Nurse Registration Certificate.
There are no active, pending or previous complaints against the AMG School.
Tuition and Fees
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing is a brand new program. They are restricted by state law from offering financial aid.
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing does not clearly display tuition costs on its website.
Cost of Attendance
Tuition for the LPN program is $18,000. It covers all fees, books, uniforms and supplies. The tuition is the same for the 12-month day program or 14-month program.
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing does not offer financial aid.
LPN students can pay for one class at a time.
Schedule of Classes
The school offers both a day and an evening program. Students progress one class at a time until they have completed 13 classes.
The day program runs Monday – Friday. Class begins 9:00AM and ends at 3:00PM. This program is aimed at students who wish to finish in twelve months.
Evening classes begin at 5:30PM and end at 10:30PM. They run Monday – Friday. Evening students complete their training in 14 months.
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing does not offer classes on the weekends.
Facilities and Faculty
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing does very well with clinicals, instructors, class sizes and equipment.
All instructors are licensed and credentialed as Nurse Educators.
Classes are restricted to 25 students. This provides an excellent 25:1 student to faculty ratio.
The school utilizes the latest equipment used in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities.
Medical-surgical clinicals are held at the privately run Brooklyn Hospital Center. Students can also select from a variety of public hospitals. Long term care and rehabilitation clinicals are at the Ruby Weston Manor and the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing has no agreements with other schools that allow a smooth transition into Registered Nurse training.
NCLEX Pass Rate
There is no NCLEX data available through the New York State Office of the Professions. The state has not updated the school list to include the period that contains AMG students’ test scores.
